John Oliver Pays Musical Tribute to Russia’s Horny Space Geckos

The story of the Russian geckos, sent into space to have crazy gecko sex in the name of science, captivated the world’s imagination — including that of John Oliver, who mounted a social media campaign to rescue the “fuck-lizards” from outer space. Upon learning that they had frozen to death, Oliver grew despondent.

“Listen. Up in that shuttle, there were four females and one male,” he said passionately. “And we sent those geckos to have sex in space — not because they were easy, but because he was hard.”

But to recognize the great sacrifice these geckos had made for the progress of humanity, Oliver and the band A Great New World sung “Say Something” in their memories, and poured out one for the homies.
