Laura Ingraham Praises Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Invites Her to Come On Her Show

Fox News host Laura Ingraham praised newly-elected Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) on her late-night show Wednesday and invited the 29-year-old to come on as a guest.

“Really impressive that she goes from being–you know, she was working at a coffee shop–fairly modest means, and she takes on this very liberal Crowley, Congressman Crowley, third in the leadership in the Democratic Party, and she just organizes the heck out of it and rolls right over him,” said Ingraham. “I kinda like the fact that she’s like, ‘You guys lost to Trump. I’m gonna help take this party in a new direction.’ I kind of admire that.”

Last week, the young congresswoman slammed Ingraham’s show on Twitter and decried the network’s alleged support of white supremacy.

Ingraham said, as her guest panelists laughed, that as a single mother she felt offended by Ocasio’s tweet about her. Guest Matt Schlapp suggested Ingraham invite Ocasio-Cortez on her show, to which the host agreed.

“We called her. We tried to get in touch with her, but I haven’t heard back,” said Ingraham, then facing the camera, “We’d love to have you on. We’d have a good conversation, actually.”

Ingraham added she doesn’t think it’s smart for conservatives to mock or dismiss the young congresswoman, whom she perceives as having a lot of potential.
