Lawrence O’Donnell: ‘The President Is Uneducable, He Cannot Learn’

Last night on MSNBC, Lawrence O’Donnell said rather bluntly, “The president is uneducable. He cannot learn.”

He said that Trump’s declaration he would be “100 percent” willing to testify under oath was not only something “no good lawyer would allow him to do,” but that “he will break” that promise when the time comes.

But O’Donnell argued that one of Trump’s biggest problems is how he hasn’t learned anything from the Nixon era because “it happened during that period of his life where he was concerned, according to previous testimony given to Howard Stern, with nothing other than how much sex he could have with how many women.”

He pointed to the “tapes” tweet in particular:

“Recording White House conversations turned out to be the single worst idea any president ever had about how to run his White House. It is a uniquely painful issue in the history of the presidency. The secret tape recordings of President Nixon’s conversations are an ugly scar on the presidency. Every president since Nixon has known that, except the uneducable president.”

Trump yesterday again refused to give a definitive answer on whether there are actual tapes or not.

O’Donnell even raised the prospect of the Supreme Court compelling Trump to testify under oath and Trump refusing, which he said would lead to “a constitutional crisis that could only be resolved through the impeachment process.”
