Lou Dobbs and Rep. Gaetz Trash ‘Disaster’ Paul Ryan: ‘Get the Hell Out of the Office’
If you thought SpyGate on Fox News primetime was lit, take a gander over at what’s happening on Fox Business Network, where host Lou Dobbs is truly wilding on a nightly basis.
Dobbs had Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) on his show Wednesday night — and the pair tore apart House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) for dismissing the conspiracy theory that the FBI spied on Donald Trump‘s 2016 campaign in a politically motivated effort to sabotage it.
Ryan’s default stance when asked about Trump’s day-to-day lunacy is usually silence, but on Wednesday he offered something of a rebuke of the president, agreeing with Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) that there is currently no evidence of scandal in the FBI’s handling of the Russia probe.
Gaetz, a real life Florida Man and prominent cable news SpyGate salesman, took Ryan to task for that on Dobbs’ show.
“There is no defense today for Paul Ryan siding with the FBI and Department of Justice over against those of us in the Congress who are working for transparency and accountability,” Gaetz said.
Gaetz continued that Ryan’s defenses of the FBI are “deeply frustrating,” referring to the agency as “the Deep State.”
“He is a defender of K Street and Wall Street and the Koch brothers,” Dobbs replied. “The man has sold out, he’s been obviously sold out for years.”
Dobbs asked Gaetz if he could think of a time when Ryan has defended the president against allegations of collusion with Russia.
Gaetz called for “real accountability when it comes to the crimes of the Clinton family and the Clinton Foundation,” saying the “silence” from Ryan on that front is “deafening.”
“Why in the world would your conference not say that’s enough?” Dobbs asked. “Mr. Lame Duck Speaker: Get the hell out of the office, you’re going to send us to perdition and destruction in the midterm elections.”
Dobbs continued:
“This man doesn’t have a plan. He doesn’t have a strategy. He doesn’t raise money that any other speaker couldn’t raise. He certainly is not a strategic thinker. He is anti-Trump, he has been so throughout. He is a disaster, and the disaster is going to consume your party, do you not agree, if he is locked in that speakership?”
Gaetz replied that for the first time, he’s hearing more conservative members of the GOP Congress ponder booting Ryan from the speakership.
