Michael Avenatti on CNN: Criticism of Me Appearing on TV So Much ‘All a Bunch of Nonsense’

Stormy Daniels’ attorney Michael Avenatti defending his seemingly constant cable news appearances while on CNN tonight, hitting back at critics by saying that his media strategy “is working.”

Avenatti is representing the porn star Daniels in her dispute against President Donald Trump — who she claims to have had an affair with in 2006 — and his personal lawyer Michael Cohen after she was allegedly paid $130,000 in hush money just prior to the 2016 presidential campaign. As part of his representation for Daniels, Avenatti has launched an all-out media campaign in which he frequently appears on prominent cable news shows.

This has led to critics questioning the motives behind Avenatti’s media push, which the attorney responded to:

“I have to tell you this, I have to touch on this, OK, there has been… some criticism about our media strategy, and how often I’m on CNN, and how often I’ve been on your show, and other networks. It’s all a bunch of nonsense, because here’s the bottom line, Anderson: it’s working, OK. It is working in spades. One of the reasons, one of the ways that it is working is because we are so out front on this, people send us information. People want to help our cause. People contact us with information.”

During the interview, Anderson also pushed Avenatti on his claim that he is “just getting started”

“Do you have more information, and if so, why don’t you just release it now?” Quizzed Anderson.

“If anybody has been paying attention for the last eight, nine weeks, they know there is not a lot of hyperbole,” Avenatti responded. “We make a lot of statements but back them up and then some. We do not over promise and under deliver, we under promise and over deliver, and that’s exactly what we’re going to continue to do. There are more bomb shells coming, there’s more evidence, more information.”
