Morning Joe Mocks Giuliani For ‘Debating Himself’ in Media Blitz: ‘Someone Throw Grandpa From the Train’
Morning Joe was dumbfounded by Rudy Giuliani‘s whirlwind media blitz on Monday, in which he appeared on a series of cable news shows to make confounding declarations, only to attempt to clean them up on the next show he appeared on.
Joe Scarborough noted how explanations of Trump’s knowledge of the Trump Tower meeting have shifted, finally landing on Giuliani’s argument: “my client didn’t commit a crime, but if my client committed a crime, it wasn’t a crime.”
“Rudy Giuliani is not ruling out the possibility of a second meeting in 2016 about Russians peddling dirt to the Trump campaign,” Mika Brzezinski said incredulously. “Honestly? His family should step in.”
Scarborough burst out laughing, adding, “Throw grandpa from the train. He needs to go home.”
“Somebody close to Rudy needs to just take him home,” Scarborough said.
“If you’re interviewing Rudy Giuliani you need to be embarrassed if you don’t have a follow-up that makes sense,” Brzezinski said. “I’ve watched a couple of the interviews, and it’s been painful. I’m sorry. It’s pathetic.”
The MSNBC hosts proceeded to run through Giuliani’s day of cable news hits, including his rambling explanations of the “alleged” second meeting, supposedly held before the Trump Tower one with Russian lawyers.
Scarborough burst out laughing at Giuliani’s nonsensical explanations.
“What a journey,” MSNBC’s Willie Geist said. “Rudy Giuliani is debating himself.”
“It’s a debate all in his own head.”
