Morning Joe: Trump’s Roger Stone Tweet May Be ‘Witness-Tampering Involved in Obstruction of Justice’

The panel of Morning Joe appeared to be in agreement that President Donald Trump’s Monday morning tweets about Roger Stone crossed a red line of legal behavior. Or, as contributor Mike Barnicle stated plainly, “the president may have been witness-tampering involved in obstruction of justice.”

Willie Geist carefully laid out the how Trump’s tweets regarding Michael Cohen and Stone could impact and influence both their testimony and the investigation into Russian Collusion led by Special Counsel Robert Mueller. In the middle of Geist’s explainer, Mika Brzezinski can be heard off-camera exclaiming “wow, this is incredible.”

Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson then compared the behavior of the current Commander in Cheif to that of the 41st President, George H. W. Bush who passed away late last week, calling it “jarring” that Trump’s respectful visit to the Capitol Rotunda to visit Bush’s casket.

Robinson called it “an enormous relief to the nation because the idea that a president who so little respects the rule of law and tradition and the continuum of the presidency from Washington to Lincoln to Roosevelt to trump, it just doesn’t — it’s jarring.”
