‘Repulsive’: Joe Scarborough Disgusted by Trump Calling J6 Prisoners ‘Hostages’ While Jews are Held Captive in Gaza

Joe Scarborough is disgusted that former President Donald Trump is defending imprisoned January 6th rioters as “hostages” while hundreds of Israeli and American citizens are currently being held in Gaza by Hamas forces.

Willie Geist called Trump’s defense “repulsive,” while Scarborough said, “He’s gone from calling these people, these thugs from ‘political prisoners’ to now comparing them to Jews who were ripped out of their homes.”

“Believe you me, there was no mistake. Jews ripped out of their homes on the 7th, beaten up, bludgeoned, grandmothers thrown on the back of pickup trucks and taken underground by Hamas terrorists,” Scarborough continued. “And they’re the hostages.”

Trump traveled to the Houston headquarters of an offshore drilling company on Thursday and took the stage as the song “Justice for All,” sung by the J6 Prison Choir, played over the loudspeakers.

“You know what that was? That was .. I call them the J6 hostages, not prisoners. I call them the hostages, what’s happened,” Trump said of the men and women still behind bars for the attack on the Capitol building on January 6th, 2021. “And it’s a shame,” he added.

The song features Trump reciting the Pledge of Allegiance mixed with a rendition of the national anthem. “They asked me whether or not I would partake and do the beautiful words,” he explained his participation in the song. “And I said, yes, I would. And you saw the spirit. The spirit was incredible. And when that came out, it went to the number one.”

“The world is talking about the hostages, Jonathan Lemire, and Donald Trump uses this time to compare those thugs that were beating up police officers with American flags, to compare them to Jews who were tripped from their homes, raped, beaten, so many killed, but also so many taken to underground tunnels by a terrorist organization,” Scarborough added.

Lemire replied, “Trump’s comments would be deeply offensive at any time, but particularly now, considering the uncertain fate of those hostages in Gaza at this moment.”
