Rudy Giuliani 30 Years Ago ‘Would Have Prosecuted the Rudy Giuliani of Today,’ State Attorney Tells MSNBC
Florida State Attorney Dave Aronberg told MSNBC on Monday that “the Rudy Giuliani of 30 years ago would have prosecuted the Rudy Giuliani of today.”
During a segment on Giuliani’s ongoing defamation trial, MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle asked Aronberg whether the trial could affect the separate Georgia election interference case in which both Giuliani and former President Donald Trump are co-defendants.
“If Rudy takes the stand, as I expect he will–” replied Aronberg, before Ruhle interrupted, “Why do you think he will? Donald didn’t today.”
“Yeah, right, that’s true, but Donald actually did previously in this case, right?” said Aronberg:
Rudy, I think, thinks he’s smarter than everyone else and I think down deep, you know, he’s so deranged that he thinks he did nothing wrong, so I think he does take the stand. His lawyer says he will. But that could be used against him later on. Remember, Rudy Giuliani is an unindicted co-conspirator in the federal interference election– the election case in D.C., and he is a named defendant in Georgia.
Ruhle responded, “This is my point. Unlike Donald Trump, he actually has a deep understanding of how the law works,” to which Aronberg declared, “Well, perhaps he used to. I mean, the Rudy Giuliani of 30 years ago would have prosecuted the Rudy Giuliani of today.”
“Wow, we’re gonna end on that kind of prophetic note,” Ruhle concluded.
