Rudy Giuliani Relives Harrowing Timeline of 9/11 for Fox & Friends
It is sometimes easy to see Rudy Giuliani solely in the frame of his current role as the most strident and fiercest defender of an embattled President Donald Trump and overlook the almost transcendent political figure he became in the days weeks and months that followed the attacks of 9/11.
On the 17th anniversary of the most deadly attack on American soil since Pearl Harbor, Giuliani visited the set of Fox & Friends and shared his memories from that awful day in a sober and reflective manner, while footage of the then New York Mayor traipsed through dusty Lower Manhattan after the Twin Towers fell.
Cynics can certainly find a negative portrayal, and reasonable people have noticed that Giuliani may have, at times, exploited his role for political gain. But today is not the day for such critiques, and today’s segment went off without featuring any politics. It served as a poignant reminder that in the days that followed 9/11, there was no time for partisan politics as America was truly united in its support for those directly affected by the events of that tragic day.
