The View Hits Trump For ‘Shocking’ Silence on Stormy Daniels: ‘He’s Very Quiet All of a Sudden’

The ladies on The View find it interesting that President Donald Trump, ordinarily not the least bit shy about wading into controversy, has yet to offer a direct statement about his relationship with Stormy Daniels.

The panel began by a discussing a claim made by the porn star’s lawyer today on Morning Joe. The attorney, Michael Avenatti, said his client was physically threatened to keep quiet about her alleged 2006 tryst with Trump before the 2016 election.

Sara Haines said she finds it “shocking” that Trump has yet to say anything about this since the president tweets and makes explosive comments on a regular basis.

“He’s very quiet all of a sudden,” Joy Behar said in agreement.

Guest host and CNN commentator Ana Navarro speculated that “somebody is giving him good advice” to not give the scandal any more oxygen.

The panel went on to debate whether Daniels is a champion for Trump’s sexual misconduct accusers, or if she just refuses to be silenced by the president and his team. They also wondered whether Daniels was forced to accept Michael Cohen‘s payout back in 2016, and now she wants her voice back in light of everything that’s happened since then.

Even though Navarro doubts the scandal would undermine Trump since his base doesn’t care about his moral failings, Behar and Haines said Republicans might change their tune if there’s proof Trump’s team was paying hush money and making threats against others.
