Former President Donald Trump’s senior adviser Jason Miller praised CNN for being “very fair” and doing “a very good job” with its moderation of the first presidential debate on Thursday evening.
Reacting to Jake Tapper and Dana Bash’s performance as the moderators of CNN’s first presidential debate, Miller said, according to NewsNation, “I think the moderators did a very good job. I thought it was very fair.”
While Tapper and Bash received criticism from both liberals and conservatives for refusing to fact-check inaccurate remarks made during the debate, they were praised by conservatives for being fair and impartial.
“CNN moderators so far have been great,” reacted Fox News host Brian Kilmeade, while the Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh tweeted, “The greatest shock of all is that the moderators are asking pretty good questions so far.”
Newsmax anchor Greta Van Susteren and Fox Business senior correspondent Charles Gasparino also praised the moderators for doing a “fair” and “amazing” job, while conservative author Ann Coulter wrote, “CNN moderators are surprisingly great. Not wildly unfair, as I expected. Good questions. LOVE the mic cut, LOVE no audience.”
Following the debate, several MSNBC hosts reported that members of President Joe Biden’s circle were “panicked” by his performance against Trump and were having “conversations” about what to do next.
CNN contributor Van Jones proposed Biden be replaced as the 2024 Democratic nominee, while former Obama campaign manager David Plouffe described Biden’s performance as a “Defcon 1 moment.”
