WATCH: Jim Jordan Rebuffs Manu Raju Asking ‘Why Would You Say the Election Was Stolen?’

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) will soon face a Congressional vote that could make him second in line to the presidency as Speaker of the House. He is unwilling, however, to admit that former President Donald Trump lost the 2020 vote in a free and fair election.

Jordan’s apparent election denialism is proving to be a critical factor in his race to replace former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), who was voted out of that role just two weeks ago. The Republican majority in the House of Representatives has thus far proven unable to elect a new majority leader, leading even some of their most ardent partisan supporters to deride them as a “carnival of idiots.”

Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO) told CNN’s Laura Coates that when he pressed Jordan over Trump losing the election, Jordan could only reply, “I just don’t know.”

CNN’s Manu Raju caught up with Jordan just an hour before the vote is scheduled to take place and asked him, ” Why wouldn’t you say to Ken Buck that the election was stolen in 2020? That was not stolen.”

Jordan had replied to a few questions before Raju’s query but notably ignored that question, which perhaps says more than anything else.
