‘What the Heck Happened?’ CNN’s Sidner Questions House Democrat On His Verbal Brawl With James Comer
CNN’s Sara Sidner asked Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) how he plans to maintain a working relationship with Rep. James Comer (R-KY) after their verbal throwdown.
As Moskowitz joined CNN on Wednesday to talk about the IDF’s operations in Gaza, Sidner brought up the heated exchange he had with the House Oversight Committee chairman. Comer called Moskowitz a “smurf” after the Democratic congressman turned Comer’s claims about the Biden family against him by asking about reported, similar conduct between Comer and his brother.
“It was a very uncomfortable exchange,” Sidner said. “What the heck happened here, and how will you ever be able to work together to find solutions for the American people?”
Moskowitz answered by joking that he and Comer “are becoming fast friends.”
“Look, I work with Republicans all of the time, and I worked in a Republican administration. I know how to be a bipartisan guy. But unfortunately, what the chairman has done for the last several months is he’s gone on television trying to paint this idea that Joe Biden — when he was not in office, who did a loan with his brother — did something wrong, and he has no evidence to show that.
“All I was trying to do was to treat the chairman with the same rules…I’m not saying the chairman did anything wrong. Maybe he did, maybe he didn’t, perhaps, if, innuendos — and that’s what the chairman has been doing every night on Fox News. I just wanted to point out to the American people the hypocrisy.”
