Wilmore: How is Dennis Rodman America’s Best Connection to North Korea?

With increasing concerns about North Korea’s reported construction of a hydrogen bomb, Larry Wilmore pointed out on The Nightly Show America’s near-total lack of any diplomatic relationship with the Hermit Kingdom doesn’t bode well for de-escalation.

“Relationships matter,” Wilmore said, bringing up the connections of past U.S. presidents with leaders of Soviet Russia as instances where mutual agreements could be made. Nonetheless, Wilmore said America was “doomed” in this regard because the only major American figure to have any connection to the regime is controversial basketball star and Kim Jong-un BFF, Dennis Rodman.

“The U.S. is the richest, most advanced nation on Earth. How is our survival in the hands of this guy?,” Wimore asked, referencing Rodman’s odd friendship with the dictator.

After that, Wilmore interviewed Rodman himself (psst, its actually Jordan Carlos), who assured him that the tyrant was “stable” and a “normal guy.”
