GB News Generates Own News Cycle With Scoop On Lee Anderson-Richard Tice Meet Up

GB News reports that suspended Tory MP Lee Anderson met with Reform UK leader Richard Tice for a “one to one” in Derbyshire amid rumours of potential defection.
GB News reporter Christopher Hope landed an exclusive that GB News host Lee Anderson, the currently suspended Tory MP, met with fellow GB News host Richard Tice, leader of Reform UK, at the weekend – an indication of a possible defection from the Conservative Party.
Although both Anderson and Tice have been tight lipped about any discussions, neither have denied the possibility that the disgraced Tory might switch allegiance.
The news comes as Anderson, who served as Tory deputy chair until his failed rebellion against Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s Rwanda deportation bill, tripled down on comments made on GB News Friday, in which he suggested that Islamists controlled London Mayor Sadiq Khan.
Despite pressure from Home Secretary James Cleverly to apologise Tuesday, Anderson remained steady in his refusal to do so. He went on to blast Conservatives for not showing him a “bit more backing” and refused to rule out joining Reform UK. Reform UK, of course, is rebranded from the eurosceptic Brexit Party established by another GB News host Nigel Farage, who still serves as the party’s honourary president.
Hope reported Tuesday that less than 24 hours after his suspension, over the remarks about Khan, Anderson met with Tice just 10 miles from his constituency for a “one to one” at a Holiday Inn hotel in Derbyshire.
The comments made by Anderson and the action taken against him have sent the Conservative into a spiral, with some sympathetic to Anderson and outside critics going so far as to claim the issue is one of party-wide “systemic Islamophobia” – which Sunak denied Monday.
In addition, it seems GB News, with its band of active right-wing politicians as pundits and hosts, is now capable of generating its own news cycle.
