Piers Morgan and Dan Abrams Discuss Launch of Mediaite UK and Press Coverage of the Israel-Hamas War

TalkTV host Piers Morgan and Mediaite founder Dan Abrams discussed the launch of the publication’s new UK-focused vertical and press coverage of the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas.

Abrams appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored Monday night for a panel on the Israel-Hamas war. Morgan, who had just finished an interview with progressive commentator Cenk Uygur, explained how he’d watched Abrams debate with Uygur the previous week on NewsNation’s Dan Abrams Live in preparation — and that he was an avid reader of Mediaite’s media industry coverage.

“Dan, fantastic site, I look at it all the time,” Morgan said of Mediaite, “and coming to the UK.”

In October Abrams launched Mediaite UK, tasked with covering the British media industry. Already, Mediaite UK is engaged in reporting on how news networks in Britain, like BBC and Sky News, have navigated disinformation and propaganda throughout the ongoing conflict.

“The fog of war has come to the media now in a way we’ve never seen,” Morgan continued. “The amount of disinformation, fake videos, edited clips that are everywhere. It’s so hard to get to the truth.”

Abrams responded: “The obligation on the top end media entities is even higher because of everything that’s out there.”

Demonstrating his point, Abrams highlighted the difficulties in discerning accurate figures, using the example of casualty numbers from the Palestinian Health Ministry: “X number of Palestinians, where’s that coming from? From the Palestinian Health Ministry.”

Morgan: “From Hamas.”

Abrams agreed and stressed the challenge: “There is way too much treatment in the United States media and, to some degree in the British media, of treating Hamas like an equal partner when it comes to gathering information.”
