WATCH: GB News Host Nigel Farage Calls Out ITV Boss Kevin Lygo Over Gala Joke
Nigel Farage returned to GB News to publicly rip ITV’s programs boss Kevin Lygo over a mocking joke made about him at a gala event last month, accusing Lygo also of making his time on the reality show I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! difficult.
Farage, who recently finished third in the highly popular ITV series, did not mince words and warned Lygo it would be best “not to go to war.”
The GB News host proceeded to call out Lygo for a joke made at November’s ITV Palooza event. At the event, Lygo, accompanied by a sign language interpreter, joked on stage about knowing only one sign – that for Nigel Farage – followed by what was described as a “rude, one-handed gesture.”
Lygo also made quips about former Health Minister Matt Hancock’s participation in last year’s show, humorously noting that it was the “second most complained about TV event of last year.”
“I’m prepared to forget all of it if we can call a truce,” Farage continued. “But if you really, really want to go to war with me, I don’t think it will do ITV’s share price an awful lot of good.”
He further referenced his past confrontation with Dame Alison Rose, the former CEO of NatWest who was forced to resign after breaking with confidentiality policies in shutting down Farage’s bank account.
Farage clarified that his issue lies not with the production team or anyone involved with I’m a Celebrity but squarely with ITV senior management.
