David Hogg Rejects Laura Ingraham’s Apology: You’re Just Trying to ‘Save Your Advertisers’

After Fox News host Laura Ingraham faced backlash for taunting Parkland shooting survivor David Hogg for his college application rejections, she decided to apologize — but it seems her apology was rejected as well.
On Wednesday, she tweeted about Hogg, a Marjory Stoneman Douglas student, who revealed that he had been denied admission into four colleges despite a 4.1 GPA.
In response, Hogg went after Ingraham’s advertisers, calling for a boycott of her primetime show. A number of big names — TripAdvisor, Nutrish, Wayfair and and Nestle — announced they would all be pulling ads from the show.
It didn’t take long for Ingraham to apologize, “in the spirit of Holy Week.” She praised Hogg’s grades and his “poised” behavior following the Parkland massacre.
Any student should be proud of a 4.2 GPA —incl. @DavidHogg111. On reflection, in the spirit of Holy Week, I apologize for any upset or hurt my tweet caused him or any of the brave victims of Parkland. For the record, I believe my show was the first to feature David…(1/2)

But Hogg says he’d not buying it, and that Ingraham’s apology wasn’t enough to smooth things over.
“She only apologized after we went after her advertisers,” he told the New York Times. “It kind of speaks for itself.”
“I’m not going to stoop to her level and go after her on a personal level,” he added. “I’m going to go after her advertisers.”
Hogg followed up those comments in a tweet:
I 100% agree an apology in an effort just to save your advertisers is not enough. I will only accept your apology only if you denounce the way your network has treated my friends and I️ in this fight. It’s time to love thy neighbor, not mudsling at children. https://t.co/H0yWs4zMGk

TripAdvisor has already made clear that it will pull its advertising from the show, saying it does not “condone the inappropriate remarks made by this broadcaster,” The New York Times reported.
Nutrish said it is already “in the process of removing our ads from Laura Ingraham’s program.”
