It’s the first full college football Saturday of the season. And a very intriguing Big Ten vs. SEC match-up highlights the Saturday slate — as Michigan takes on Florida in a neutral site showdown at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX.
Michigan came tantalizingly close to making the college football playoff last season. They lost a double overtime heartbreaker to Ohio State at the horseshoe to close out the 2016 regular season — as they ended up on the wrong side of a 4th and 1 spot, and the Buckeyes scored the game winning touchdown on the very next play.
Now, the Wolverines will try to take another run at it with a mostly new roster. The team lost seven starters on offense and 10 on defense. The Maize and Blue faithful are undoubtedly hopeful, though, that the team will reload rather than rebuild under coach Jim Harbaugh.
Florida, meanwhile, comes off of a 9-4 season in 2016. There were some highlights — namely, an SEC East crown and a 30-3 Outback Bowl thrashing of Iowa. But they were also drubbed in the SEC title game, going down 54-16 to Alabama. If they hope to challenge the Crimson Tide this season, a win over a Big Ten power would certainly be a nice way to start.
Kickoff for the game is 3:30 p.m. ET. The action will air live on ABC. It will also be streamed online, via WatchESPN, free with a cable subscription. The Watch ESPN app can be downloaded from Apple’s iTunes Store, and the Google Play store.
