Twitter has a Field Day with 35 Year Old Andrew Giuliani’s Claim of Being in Government for 32 Years

Veterans of the Internet Publishing Racket (IPR) have mixed emotions about the summer months. Sure, there’s great weather and trips to the beach you can read about while stuck at home on your laptop, but there is also the seasonal traffic doldrums that come with a much lighter news cycle.
But experts in the field have tools in the blogging toolbox to deal with an ebb tide of juicy news items, one of which is to find an indescribable oddity, amplify the coverage and create its own narrative. This is known colloquially as the “Montauk Monster Principle,” and for reasons that are self-evident, it seems that Andrew Giuliani’s bid for New York Governor has all the makings of becoming our next Montauk Monster.
Andrew Giuliani is, of course, the son of former New York Mayor and former President Donald Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani. Earlier this week he announced his candidacy to run as a Republican to unseat the current and embattled NY Governor Andrew Cuomo. His media appearances have not been without some questionable comments, with which some established cable news outlets have already begun to make hay.
But why leave the fun to on-air talent? Users of the social media platform Twitter (nee Twttr) also can make jokes at the expense of silly comments made. Take for example “Lil Giuliani’s” comment to Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum that despite his age of being only 35 years old, she needs to remember he “spent 32 yards in politics and in government.”
But wait, there’s more! He also said that he is “the only announced candidate that spent parts of five decades in politics,” and “So I may look young, but I certainly feel a lot older.”
If you are confused about how a 35-year-old could claim to have been in politics for five decades then you are a rational person of sound mind. The math literally does not add up, which inspired many to have some fun at the odd moment on Twitter. To wit:
