Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Rips Mike Huckabee: ‘Leave the False Statements’ to Daughter ‘She’s Much Better At It’
Newly elected Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is something of a hero for her progressive fans for a variety of reasons. Chief among them is that she does not shy away from beefing with conservative media pundits.
Let’s call her a hero for the fighting left, which was on evidence as she pushed back on former Governor Mike Huckabee’s recent criticism-cum-dorky dad jokester.
Huckabee started the beef by criticizing Ocasio-Cortez likening her election to the “moon landing,” using an embarrassingly dumb “Moon landing was LUNAR not LOONEY” comedic syllogism.
As you can see in her tweet below, AOC’s comeback was sharper and better informed than the dopey critique made by the frequent Fox News contributor and father to White Hosue Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders. AOC Tweeted:
A Green New Deal will take a level of ambition + innovation on the scale of the moon landing. We’ve been done it before, and can do it again.
Leave the false statements to Sarah Huckabee. She’s much better at it.

The most interesting thing to note in this exchange is not the aggressive back and forth. Instead it’s worth noting that Huckabee took the first shot at Ocasio-Cortez, which suggests that in the new hierarchy of political media figures, the former Arkansas Governor is sitting below the newly elected millennial House Rep, and is “punching up” as a means to please the fans of his uniquely angry and unfunny tweets.
