‘Bane Literally Said This’: Twitter Mocks Trump Inauguration Speech for Similarities to Batman Villain
For people who like Batman but don’t care for President Donald Trump, today’s inauguration address has made all their fears come true.
Throughout his speech, Trump made a point of talking about how his election meant that his supporters were taking power away from Washington D.C. and putting it back into people’s hands.
“Today’s ceremony, however, has a very special meaning because today we are not merely transferring power from one administration to another or from one party to another, but we are transferring power from Washington, D.C., and giving it back to you, the people.”
The thing is, people took notice of that line, and they couldn’t help but notice how eerily familiar it was to an iconic line that Bane said in The Dark Knight Rises.

The Batman villain said this line after taking control of Gotham, just before plunging it into anarchy. People took notice of the Trump-Bane mash-ups popping up online, and they agree the similarities are uncanny:
