Billy Bush Has Hired Lawyer for Impending Fight with NBC
Billy Bush is already lawyering up and getting ready for a big legal battle with NBC.
Recent reports have indicated that Bush is basically out at NBC after being suspended over his role in the very lewd Donald Trump audio, and according to The Hollywood Reporter, Bush has hired a man described as “one of Los Angeles’ fiercest and well-respected attorneys.”
Marshall Grossman sounds like he’s ready to go to war for Trump, if this quote is any indication:
Bush, Grossman says, was an NBC Universal employee interviewing an NBC star in The Apprentice’s Trump, so he wasn’t exactly in a position to challenge his interview subject.
“If Billy had been passive or responded ‘Shut the f— up’ to Trump, Billy would have been out of a job the next day,” Grossman, a partner at Orrick in Los Angeles, tells The Hollywood Reporter.
Trump also was an NBC employee at the time when he was talking about grabbing women and getting away with it because he’s a star, and Bush laughed along.
And Bush might have this ace up his sleeve:
The former Access Hollywood host, whose contract pays him about $3 million a year, believes he has leverage in the talks because he had told NBC colleagues about his Trump conversation at least as far back as August, when he was covering the Olympics in Rio.
