Facebook Users Are Going Off Over NBC Video of Brock Turner’s Mom Shielding Him From Press
Public outrage usually comes and goes, never lasting too long for any one particular event, but in the case of Brock Turner and his lenient sentencing for felony sexual assault, the outrage has been sustained. From Fox News to the executive branch of the United States government, almost no one was left unmoved by his judge’s decision to give him a light sentence at the risk of ruining his future. Well, no one but his parents, but more on that in a moment.
Last Friday, he was released from jail after serving three months of the sentence he was given after being found on top of an unconscious woman behind a dumpster. He had to register as a sex offender following his release, so that’s what he did. Because of the high-profile nature of the assault he committed, news cameras followed him to the courthouse.
His father penned a letter to the judge in the case a few months ago. The letter called the assault his son perpetrated “20 minutes of action” and featured a complaint about Turner no longer enjoying steak dinners ever since he was put on trial for felony sexual assault. His mother, however, did not write a letter and, thus, garnered fewer headlines than her husband.
Today, that changed.
The above video was posted to Facebook by NBC News and commenters did not take kindly to watching Turner’s mother use her cardigan to shield her felonious son from the cameras.
Here is a selection of the reactions, taken right from the top with none omitted:

There is no pity for the Turners in sight.
