Fox News Mole Joe Muto Served With Search Warrant, Accused Of Grand Larceny
Joe Muto, the “Fox News mole” who allegedly sold information about Fox News Channel and the popular evening news program The O’Reilly Factor to gossip website Gawker, was served with a search warrant on Wednesday morning and had many of his possessions confiscated. Muto tweeted about the event and said that he was being charge with “grand larceny, among other things.”

Muto provided Gawker with private, unaired video footage from Fox as well as inside information while under the employment of Fox News Channel’s parent company, News Corporation.
I just got search warranted at 6:30am by a very polite crew from the DA’s office. Took my iPhone, laptop, some old notebooks.

When asked about the mole earlier this month, Fox News CEO Roger Ailes said, “the mole shows a culture that believes in theft, a lack of loyalty, turning on his colleagues, lying to management, and there are some real, ethical, serious questions about it.”
Reports suggest that Muto made only $5,000 for his services from Gawker.
