Franken’s Twitter Account on Report He’s Resigning Tomorrow: ‘No Final Decision Has Been Made’

Al Franken‘s Twitter account is pushing back on a report from Minnesota Public Radio which claimed that his speech tomorrow will confirm his resignation from the U.S. Senate.
MPR News reports that they received confirmation of Franken’s imminent departure from a Democratic official in close contact with Franken and his staff. One key aide told the official that Franken went home tonight with the intent of talking to his family about what tomorrow’s speech will mean for their future.
However, shortly after MPR’s story went out, Franken released this response via Twitter:
Not accurate, @mpr @Stowydad. No final decision has been made and the Senator is still talking with his family. Please update your story.

Senator Franken is talking with his family at this time and plans to make an announcement in D.C. tomorrow. Any reports of a final decision are inaccurate.

Earlier today, two more women came out and accused Franken of inappropriate sexual behavior over the years. With eight accusations of sexual misconduct against Franken, numerous Democratic senators spoke out today and said it’s time for the colleague to step aside.
Franken said he would give a speech tomorrow to address these latest developments, though Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer has become the latest to call for his resignation:
