George Will: Massa ‘Weirdness’ Spells Trouble For Dems In November
Eric Massa may be gone but he is certainly not yet forgotten (though probably a number of people are giving it their best shot). More troubling, at least for the Dems, is that his hangover effect (and we’re not just talking “tickle fights” here) may be months in the curing. At least that’s what George Will thinks.
On Sunday’s This Week, Will speculated that Massa may be a brick too far for a country already wary of an overly interfering government; an unnecessary reminder of the the ‘terminal weirdness’ of Washington that, along with Rod Blagojevich whose trial begins in June, does not bode well for the Democrats ahead of November’s mid-terms
“Is this one brick over a load. That is, are we reaching a critical mass where the public on the one hand says, Washington wants to expand its role in my life, here, here, and here and Washington is terminally weird. This is going to get worse in June when Blagojevich’s trial begins in Illinois. So this is going to be an ongoing soap opera and it’s not helpful to the Democrats.”
Does this mean Massa will also be coming to a reality show near you? One suspects no. Tampering, at least where television is concerned, is far more forgivable than, um, “tickling.” Video below.
