Hannity Spring Break Coverage Inspires More Crackdowns in Florida
Earlier this year, Sean Hannity spent a whole week exposing what really goes on during spring break. And he actually got results. And there’s even more of an indication now of how big an impact Hannity’s coverage had.
Panama City Beach Mayor Gayle Oberst told WaPo‘s Erik Wemple that “the majority of people we received calls and e-mails from did not live in Panama City Beach.” And Panama City Beach is where Hannity sent cameras to for the week-long exposé.
And so, local officials have decided to crack down on spring break festivities with new ordinances, with one focused on banning the sale of alcohol at certain hours of the night, another on ensuring anyone drinking has an ID, and one reining in the number of events held on the beach.
