How Obama Stole Christmas From Charlie Brown

obama+christmas There are certain rites (and arguably rights!) of holiday passage that no person grows out of (try though they might!). Stockings, Christmas carols, the Grinch, and Charlie Brown. I don’t even like Charlie Brown, never have, and yet every year I watch it. It sort of marks the unofficial opening of the holiday season. Not this year!

According to TVNewser, the president’s address on Afghanistan tonight that is being broadcast on all the networks is pushing the regular airing of A Charlie Brown Christmas to…next week. Phew. Of course, now that we have the Internet I’m not entirely sure the timing of anything matters anymore because I can just paste the entire thing in this post (part one below). Though sometimes it’s nice to be old school and watch things at the scheduled times, on actual TV.

i hate when they change the times of shows. drives me wild!
Maybe i will be buying charlie brown on blue ray after all.

Don’t let it happen again, Obama!! Your speech was a DUD and I would have much preferred Linus’s message to the world. I’ll bet the Cadets would have preferred Linus too!

After years of the cringe-worthy pronunciation of nu-cu-lar during the Bush White House, it seemed like we finally had an administration who had a litmus test in staffing their National Security detail - pronounce the word "nuclear." Not so. During an interview to discuss Iran's weapons program with MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell today, National Security Chief of Staff Denis McDonough definitely uttered the term Nucular. Gotcha!
