Secret Service: Drone Found at White House Belongs to Gov’t Employee (UPDATED)
A “device” was found on the White House grounds overnight Sunday, according to White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest, and credible sources say it was a drone.
Earnest said the drone posed no threat, especially not to the first couple, who are traveling in India.
The drone was discovered at around 3 a.m. and Secret Service is investigating.
Rumors that the drone belongs to Joe Biden and it “totally won’t happen again” went unconfirmed at press time.
UPDATEROONY 2:26 p.m.: We have a suspect! Per the New York Times, a government employee, not employed at the White House, told Secret Service he had accidentally flown his quad copter onto White House grounds. What our friend was doing flying a drone in the vicinity of the White House at 3 a.m. is thus far between him and the Service.
