Apparently, This Is NOT Connecticut School Shooter Ryan Lanza’s Facebook

The Connecticut school shooter has been identified as Ryan Lanza, 24. Earlier, Mediaite — and several other media outlets — asked whether this Facebook page belonged to the Connecticut shooter. The similarities were striking: Lanza lists his residence in New Jersey, where a parent was apparently found dead on Friday morning. His picture was shared on Facebook over 1,000 times in less than one minute. A Ryan Lanza is implicated in the shooting death of more than 20 people at an elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut – where this Ryan Lanza lists as his place of birth.

It turns out that this is not THE Ryan Lanza, as the owner of this Facebook account has repeatedly and angrily insisted he is not the guy.

Here are some of his frustrated updates informing people that he is NOT the Ryan Lanza implicated in the horrific slayings in Connecticut:

UPDATE: According to police, Adam Lanza carried his brother’s identification on him when he attacked Sandy Hook elementary school. This was why he was originally and erroneously identified as Ryan Lanza and Mediaite, among others, identified Ryan Lanza’s Facebook page as the shooter’s account.
