Joe Biden Accuses Republicans of ‘Beating Hispanics’ With Their Rhetoric

In a surprise appearance before the Latino Victory Project PAC, Vice President Joe Biden said that Republican presidential candidates were administering a “beating” to Hispanics with their rhetoric.

In video obtained by CNN, Biden described how he noticed that people seemed depressed at an event last month celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. “I looked out, and I could see sadness in everyone’s face. People walked in, like, literally down because of the beating, the beating Hispanics are taking at the hands of the Republican caucus… I mean the Republican presidential race,” he clarified.

“People are depressed. And the message I have for you guys is these guys don’t remotely speak for America,” he continued. “The American people are so much better. They are so far beyond. They are so, so, so much different than these guys who are appealing to everything from homophobia to this notion of the Know-Nothing Party of the late 1800s.”
