Limbaugh Infuriates Conservatives With His Trump-Lauding and Cruz-Bashing
For two days now, Rush Limbaugh has been using his show to absolutely tear Ted Cruz apart. Ever since Cruz delivered the now-infamous “vote your conscience” line instead of backing Donald Trump at the Republican National Convention, he’s been getting the ire of the Trump Train and it doesn’t look like it will slow down.
The fissure in the GOP that is symbolized by Cruz’s refused endorsement couldn’t be more obvious. After all, we first learned of this story from Red State, which ran a story the lead with this:
If you want to know how a raging, barely coherent, lifelong Manhattan liberal became the new face of the GOP, look at traitorous talking heads like Rush Limbaugh.
After last night’s funeral for the Republican party, not only did Limbaugh take his quivering adoration to the airwaves, but he helped launch the coordinated attacks against Senator Ted Cruz, making excuses for some of the more despicable claims of Lord Trump during the primary race.
Yikes. Tell us how you really feel, Red State.
Limbaugh described Trump versus Cruz as “alpha male versus I don’t know what” and praised Trump for clinging to his defense that he never went after Heidi Cruz. He referred to Trump’s retweet of the unflattering Heidi Cruz photo and implication of Cruz’s father in the death of President John F. Kennedy as “[tripling] down” and “[finding] out where you’re vulnerable and [coming] right back at you with a sharp knife.”
Yes, he said that insulting a man’s wife and father is just going after his weaknesses with a knife.
