Lindsey Graham Jokes About ‘White Men’ Doing Great Under His Presidency

CNN obtained tonight some amusing, unfiltered audio of Senator Lindsey Graham joking at a private gathering about how great well-to-do white men will do under his presidency. CNN says the audio was sent to them by South Carolina Democrats and reportedly came from an all-male club Graham was speaking at in Charleston (the Hibernian Society, as Graham explained when CNN reached out to him).

Graham first apologizes for how “fucked up” the government is before joking, “If I get to be the president, white men in male-only clubs are going to do great in my presidency.”

The South Carolina senator hasn’t been considered a likely 2016 candidate, though he wanted to make it clear earlier this month that he is seriously considering jumping into the fray.

Graham also riffs a bit on religion, saying, “We got any Presbyterians here? We got any Baptists? They’re the ones that drink and don’t admit it.”

When CNN reached out to Graham, he said he was just poking fun at the all-male membership of the club.
