Meghan McCain Might Become a Co-Host of The View

The View has yet to confirm any new co-hosts (though multiple reports suggest Rosie O’Donnell is back in), but one person they’re reportedly considering is Meghan McCain, co-host of TakePart Live on Pivot and daughter of Senator John McCain.

There have been rumblings for a while that the daytime talk show has been looking for a conservative voice to sit at the desk (Elisabeth Hasselbeck‘s departure left a void there, but The View has brought in conservative guest hosts like Will Cain and Mary Katharine Ham this year). And so, according to E! Online, McCain might end up filling that role on the show. McCain is still under contract with Pivot, but producers of The View are reportedly interested in bringing her on.

McCain has made guest appearances on the show before, including one where she went off on Sarah Palin for harboring a double standard about the word “retarded.”
