Mike Pence Is Doing Everything He Can to Argue Trump’s Exactly Like Reagan

Mike Pence is attempting to make a case to everyone today that Donald Trump is very much like Ronald Reagan.

Pence came to the Ronald Reagan Library today to deliver a speech. And, well, this is basically the big takeaway from his visit:

Pence also gave an interview to CNN’s Dana Bash touching on the same issue. He drew an analogy between Reagan being willing to call the Soviet Union an “evil empire” and Trump calling out radical Islamic terrorism.

(Oh, and he also said Putin is a stronger leader than Obama is.)

CNN aired a clip earlier in the afternoon in which Pence claimed Trump, like Reagan, has a “core of humility.” Bash asked if someone who puts his name on everything is really that humble.

Pence replied, “Well, Ronald Reagan had his name on a lot of marquees.”
