Possible Suspect Identified In Boston Marathon Bombings

CNN is reporting that authorities have identified a possible suspect in the investigation into Monday’s Boston Marathon bombings. A source told CNN’s John King that photos from a local Boston TV station as well as photos of the pressure cooker bomb itself helped lead to the identity of the suspect.
The breakthrough came from analysis of video from a department store near the site of the second explosion. Video from a Boston television station also contributed to the progress, said the source, who declined to be more specific but called it a significant development.
The report does not indicate whether authorities believe the attack was perpetrated by a foreign or domestic individual or group. More details as they become available.
UPDATE: Local news reports suggest an arrest is imminent.
UPDATE II: CNN reports an arrest has been made. NBC and CBS report otherwise.
UPDATE III: CBS’ Bob Orr reports that sources say the attacker was on phone when he dropped second backpack. Cell records led to identifying the suspect.
UPDATE IV: It appears CNN has walked back its claim of an arrest, citing three separate sources who say there has yet to be an arrest. No one is currently in custody.
UPDATE V: CNN admits they got the initial report wrong. No arrest has been made. NBC News was the only outlet to report the news correctly on first report.
