Season’s Greetings, Glenn Beck Style: Terrorist Attacks For The Holidays?

video

beck_terroristSeason’s greetings from Glenn Beck! On his show that aired Wednesday, November 25th, the Fox News host asked his audience to imagine a terrorist attack on the United States, pretending that we’d “be as lucky as we were with the World Trade Center where everybody was gone or most people were gone.”

Beck said:

You know everything is too big to fail, but nobody talks about the little guy. Nobody talks about the individual. Let me ask you this question. Please ponder this over the holiday season. Heaven forbid anything happens. God help us if al Qaeda would come but imagine if somebody could succeed in blowing up any of our great American icons. If they destroyed all of Washington, let’s just pretend that we would be as lucky as we were with the World Trade Center where everybody was gone or most people were gone—and they destroyed the Washington Monument and everything else—all of our enduring symbols, all the monuments we’ve always treasured—would it matter?

I don’t think so. The monuments are meaningless. The monuments are there to remind us who we are. But we have forgotten. We have become about the structure. We are the people that defeated the most powerful empire on earth as a group of rag-tag farming colonists. We were the people that explored. We mapped. We tamed the west. We crossed the mountains in wagons. We stunned the world with technical marvels and defeated the Nazis. We defeated the communists. We walked on the moon.

Lester and Charlie opened a video hotline to find out what’s making people angry. Mr. Beck came up a number of times.

I can’t believe that people actually watch this clown! He’s completely psychotic. I’m waiting for the day when he gets on the air, puts a gun in his mouth, and pulls the trigger. That’s really all that’s left for this king of the wingnuts and teabaggers. You’d have to be brain dead to watch this nonsense. Speaking of nonsense, this idiot who likes to misquote the Constitution actually said this:

“Progressives have built up this wall of separation between church and state, and it’s nonsense”

The man is an idiot. Fortunately for him, his viewers are idiots too. And what’s with the chalkboard?

Hey RoxSteady, we’re happy to have you express your views on the site but please, no violence or imagined violence. We want an informed exchange of views and opinions here, which you provide, but the gun imagery is too much. FYI. Thanks.

  • Trickletown Trickletown says:

Yeah, roxsteady, what do you think this is, The Wanda Sykes Show? As long as the thread has drifted down the path of ‘gun imagery’ did anyone see Wanda fantasize about Sarah Palin murdering Levi Johnston with her hunting rifle and then ” God please make it a murder-suicide!” Saturday night yuks keep on ‘a coming. Thanks Fox TV.

I understand the Becks are sending a Christmas card that reads, “We hope you have a very special Christmas this year and pray that you don’t get blowed up. We’re just sayin”

  • Magister Magister says:

@Ted: I’d just like to know why he’s so scared. Maybe he needs a Teddy Bear or something.

  • Ted Ted says:

Beck needs fear; it’s his bread and butter. Well, that and conspiracies and oddly he seems to be the only one on planet earth who is able see these alleged conspiracies and the only one with the solution…naturally. Aren’t we lucky Glenn is looking out for us?

The strategy is straightforward, push fear and sell the solution. He has mastered that strategy and as a consequence, makes a lot of money and controls a whole bunch of dumb asses.

Though I don’t presume to speak for him/her, I believe the intent of RoxSteady’s comment might have been in vague reference to Beck’s frequently repeated claiming of the mantel of ‘Network’s’ Howard Beal (We’re mad as hell and we’re not going to take it anymore’), who meets just such a demise.

  • Nachi Nachi says:

But don’t we have to bring back our classic alcoholic, “BushDrunk,” in order to ensure a REAL terrorist attack??

  • Nachi Nachi says:

A frightened, trembling America is a pro-GOP America. These people represent the worst and most demeaning years in American history. They continue to hammer nails into the coffin of the economy, the environment, the very soul of the Nation. They are a quivering mass of ignoble sadness, hatred, and blighted phlegm.

Thanks for the comment. Personally, I find name calling to be really effective in getting your point across. Sure, you could have referenced what you disagree with… and sure you could have done it in a mature and adult way… but the juvenile ranting of someone clearly unbalanced, complaining about someone THEY think is unbalanced does bring a little extra humor to the situation.

I look forward to reading more of your posts… please make sure to get them in before recess ends… we all need a laugh now and then.

I’m curious, Ted… when the left was screaming about Bush looking through everyone’s mail… was that “fear” or “conspiracies.” When the left was screaming, “HE STOLE THE ELECTIONS!” (they still are), despite every single reputable source saying otherwise… was that “fear” or “conspiracies?”

Funny how you’re all of a sudden against of “fear” and “conspiracies,” seems that was the left’s modus operandi for the past 8 years.

    … and blighted phlegm.

Wait, I’m sorry… I’m a little confused. Who is a “mass of… hatred.” Nachi, the sheer vileness of your comments never ceases to amaze me.

But at least this time you used all real words! Congrats!

  • Ted Ted says:

ImNotBlue – I’m curious…how exactly do you know what I’m “all of a sudden against?”

Perhaps you’re right… I don’t know what you said back then. So… what did you think then? Were you part of the COMMON left, who didn’t mind exaggerating a bit when it came to attacking Bush… or were you “different?”

  • Ted Ted says:

I have no idea who the “common” left is. I’d like to know, who on the “common” left has even come close to Glenn Becks rhetoric? And if there was any one on the left that was close, I would submit to you that that their ratings would be through the roof. Those I am familiar with still have their self respect so it might to hard to find one.

The Seven Best (Or, Somewhat Memorable) Moments Of The Jay Leno Show

    video

After 95 episodes, the epic failure known as The Jay Leno Show airs its final episode tonight. Of course, Leno himself will be back after the Olympics, comfortably at 11:35pm all over again. Which was pretty much the problem to begin with - the 10pm offering started as a similar product to the Tonight Show, and only became more like the old format as time went on.
