Sharpton Dismisses Rumors He’s Losing His MSNBC Show

There have been some rumors this week that Al Sharpton is losing his MSNBC show as part of an ongoing schedule shake-up. Well, Sharpton has officially shot down those rumors and said he isn’t going anywhere.

Sharpton told The Daily Beast, “I am pretty certain that I am solid at the time period that I’m at for the next foreseeable future. And any rumors to the contrary are totally unfounded.”

And an MSNBC spokesperson corroborated Sharpton, saying, “There are no plans to move Rev. Sharpton’s show.”

Sharpton declined to publicly comment on the discrimination lawsuit against Comcast claiming that the giant corporation paid him off, but did respond to criticism that he’s an opportunist in the cases of individuals like Michael Brown and Eric Garner:

“What money is there in police brutality? What are they talking about? It’s insane. Are you telling me that if a family sues, then an Al Sharpton would say, ‘All right, I’m gonna lay out all this money and three years from now—if you may get some money, which nobody knows—y’all will give me a kickback.’

“I would risk my seven-figure salary from NBC and from radio? For what? I mean, come on! If you don’t think I’m ethical, at least say ‘He’s got good sense.’…It is the most ridiculous thing in the world!”
