‘Stupidest Press Secretary in History’: Twitter is Outraged Over Spicer’s Hitler Gaffe

Twitter was outraged over White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer‘s comments during Tuesday’s press briefing — in which he tried to condemn Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad by saying, “You had someone as despicable as Hitler, who didn’t even sink to using chemical weapons.
Social media immediately denounced Spicer for the comments. Here’s a sampling of the comments from politicians, journalists, and other observers:
I find nothing funny about the Press Secretary bungling holocaust history. Because I’m not sure they should get the benefit of the doubt.

“Even Hitler didn’t have a private email server.” -Sean Spicer, probably.

SEAN SPICER JUST SAID HITLER DIDN’T USE CHEMICAL WEAPONS.

According to Sean Spicer, Nazis used “Holocaust Centers” & Hitler didn’t gas his own people like Assad.
He should lose his job over this.

I may offer a PR course, which is just one hour of students repeating over and over: “We will not mention Hitler. We will not…”

Someone get @PressSec a refresher history course on Hitler stat #Icantbelievehereallysaidthat

Message to American politicians – it just never pays to mention Hitler, especially when you don’t get the facts straight.

SEAN SPICER (Defending Hitler on Passover): Hold my beer.

The positive lesson here is that you will not, ever, be as bad at your job as Sean Spicer is at his. Use that to buoy you on this fine day.
