UPDATE: Taraji P. Henson told People that he red carpet comments to Ryan Seacrest were “misconstrued,” and that she “absolutely” supports the E! host.

Taraji P. Henson, of Empire fame, knows exactly how to throw haunting, haunting shade.

On the red carpet speaking with Ryan Seacrest at the 2018 Oscars, Henson remarked that “the universe has a way of taking care of the good people.”

She then gave an unwitting Seacrest a prolonged gaze, and knocked him on the chin before cracking a smile.

Seacrest has been the subject of scrutiny since his former stylist accused him of repeated sexual harassment. E! has stood by the star host, despite reports that stars would be seeking to avoid him on the red carpet.

Seacrest and Henson were discussing Mary J. Blige, who is nominated for an Oscar for the Netflix film Mudbound, and how successful of a year she’s had.

Henson apparently continued the shade after her chat with Seacrest, making another remark at his expense to her next interviewer:
