Twitter Pays Homage to John McCain Upon News He’s Discontinuing Cancer Treatment: ‘One Of My Heroes’
The Twitterverse is offering sympathy to Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) and his family in light of the news that he’s decided to stop receiving medical treatment for his battle with brain cancer.
After fighting glioblastoma for more than a year, McCain’s family released a statement confirming that he will not pursue any further treatment.
In response, numerous politicians, media figures, and other notable individuals have gone online to express their sorrow and well wishes for the McCain family, as well as pay tribute to the Arizona Senator.
Just going to say again: thank you @SenJohnMcCain for every fight in which you stood next to me, and for dragging us all along with you, and leaving so many better men (and women) in your wake.
