U.S. Lawmakers Delete Tweets in Support of Bergdahl’s Release
When the White House first broke the news of Bowe Bergdahl‘s release, the initial reaction was euphoric. Finally, a win for America. But as it turns out, Bergdahl may be a deserter who gave information to the enemy, according to soldiers who worked with him, so now the White House’s initial praise of Bergdahl’s character and service doesn’t look quite so good.
Of course, it wasn’t just the White House that got tripped up by it. There were also a few U.S. lawmakers who tweeted out glowing words about Bergdahl upon his release, only to delete them. Luckily, there is a website out there specifically made to archive the deleted tweets of politicians and political figures, so here are the lawmakers that quickly walked back their support of Bergdahl:
