Actor Will Ferrell finally paid a visit to Zach Galifianakis‘ interview series – the aptly-named “Between Two Ferns” – to promote his new movie, Everything Must Go.

The last time Zach Galifianakis visited Bill Maher, the two bonded over their liberal approach to drug laws and, well, their liberal approach to drug usage. But when the last outrageous antic done on live air was to smoke “marijuana,” how do you outdo yourself this time? Luckily, Maher had a heroin kit handy, which Galifianakis was more than happy to use. He didn’t talk all that much after that.

Anyone who’s watched the hilarious web series Between Two Ferns knows that Zach Galifianakis has a special love for the comedy of discomfort. It shouldn’t be any surprise then that his favorite part of attending the White House Correspondents’ Dinner was sitting near Donald Trump and watching the man’s growing discomfort as every joke seemed to focus on him. Galifianakis described the pleasure of this rare experience last night to Conan O’Brien.

This week’s “Digital Short” featured Zach Galifianakis searching for a new assistant, and interviewing various young children to see if they fit the bill. He asked them all the usual interview questions: how much the kids knew about Justin Bieber, how often and how badly their feet smelled, and whether or not they could tell the difference between a stapler and a phone.

Zach Galifianakis is method. In the middle of his Saturday Night Live monologue tonight, he announced the joke portion was over, then ripped off his clothes – revealing a Little Orphan Annie dress. Sure enough, he then kicked into a lip-synced version of “Tomorrow” (we hope it was lip-synced, anyway), of course flashing some underwear all the while.

Last Friday, Fox News analyst Margaret Hoover appeared on Real Time with Bill Maher when the subject of pot legalization and Prop 19 came up. Actor/Comedian Zach Galifianakis was also a guest on the show, and, in an apparent effort to demystify marijuana consumption, seemed to light up a joint during the taping of the show. Maher has since claimed that the smokey treat in question was not, in fact pot, but tonight on The O’Reilly Factor, Hoover told a different story.

Bill Maher was in the Situation Room clarifying some of the moments that went viral from last Friday’s Real Time. Sure, he talked about that whole “Mohammed thing,” but, more importantly, he answered the question everyone was dying to know: No, it was not real pot that Zach Galifianakis was smoking. His proof? If it was real, he would have joined it.

Those who accuse the once libertarian Bill Maher of becoming too much of a liberal apologist might want to clean their ears. Maher made a Juan Williams-esque confession on his program when he apprehensively noted that Mohammed has just become the most popular baby name in Britain. “Am I a racist to feel alarmed by that?” Maher asked his panel. “Because I am. And it’s not because of the race, it’s because of the religion. I don’t have to apologize, do I, for not wanting the Western world to be taken over by Islam in 300 years?”

Last week, it was reported that Mel Gibson would begin the first phase of Operation: Make People Forget That Whole “Pack Of N**gers” Comment by making a cameo appearance in The Hangover 2. Now though, it looks like he’s going to have to find another mainstream comedy to try and appear not insane in as he’s been kicked off the film following a protest from the cast and crew.

The comedy interview form is easy to replicate, but very difficult to master. Judging by the recent efforts of Zack Galifinakis to interview Ben Stiller on his Funny or Die! produced “Between Two Ferns” bit, Galifinakis has mastered the form. It’s funny. Really funny.
