Architect Of WH Attacks On Fox News, Anita Dunn, Leaving At End Of Month

garrett_11-10Glenn Beck will be losing a sparring partner soon, as Anita Dunn will be stepping down as Communications Director at the end of the month.

Dunn was one of the first Obama administration officials to attack Fox News in the ongoing beef between the two sides.

One note – this isn’t too much of a surprise. FNC’s White House correspondent Major Garrett explained this situation in a report earlier today. “When Anita Dunn came in May, she was given the tag Interim Communications Director, and it was always said then, and it has been said throughout her brief tenure that she would be leaving by year’s end, and now she is going to leave as the end of this month as opposed to the end of December,” said Garrett. “Now that is a month difference, to be sure, but the White House insists that is not any earlier than had originally been scheduled.”

Now everyone get familiar with her replacement – Dan Pfeiffer. From the Washington Post story that broke the news:

Pfeiffer began working for Obama in 2007 following Sen. Evan Bayh’s (Ind.) decision not to pursue the presidency. He served a stint as the traveling press secretary for Obama’s presidential bid but eventually took a slot overseeing the campaign’s communications operation.

Also, his face will be spending a lot of time on Glenn Beck’s chalkboard. Hopefully Dunn whispers the secret phone number to the Mao Hotline to Pfeiffer before she heads out into the real world.

We’ll have more as this story develops…

> Update: A Fox News spokesperson tells The Huffington Post: “We wish Anita well in her future endeavors.” For those unfamiliar with what this comment means, check out what FNC is really saying.
