Bill O’Reilly Responds To Rush Limbaugh’s Parody With Grace

Video

Speaking of conservative in-fighting: tonight Bill O’Reilly responded to the gauntlet thrown by Rush Limbaugh on the conservative pundit’s radio show Friday, in which Limbaugh did an impression of The Factor host, saying “We need to give socialism a fair shake…we here at The Factor are going to give socialism, even communism a fair shake!” Harsh words, Rush. See Limbaugh’s parody and O’Reilly’s surprising response is below.

Limbaugh’s original comments:

O’Reilly’s response

O’Reilly comes off as more good-natured about this ribbing than we may have expected, showing that yes, fear of wealth redistribution is a major concern within the Republican Party, but that he personally does not think President Obama is a socialist (though he may hold socialist tenants!). In the end though, O’Reilly takes the high road, leaving it up to his viewers to decide whether the government’s hand in property taxes and health care is veering dangerously far away from democracy. But he warns, “these issues are complicated, and calling President Obama a Socialist is oversimplifying.” Just more evidence of late that O’Reilly’s grand gestures towards the savage and dramatic — which made him such a ratings booster — have been handed over to Glenn Beck on Fox, and the Factor’s new role is that of moderator, not instigator.

I only heard part of BOR on this from another room but your description sounds right to me.

BTW, I like them both and I would have been surprised if BOR had reacted differently to this. Keep in mind that he doesn’t even respond to KO the Klown’s constant scuzzy low blows so why would he get bent out of shape by some hard hitting satire?

BTW, speaking of KO the Klown when, if you are, are you going to get around to this:

Thanks for listening. At least I hope you are. :)

BTW. It’s Billo The Clown. Why don’t you ask Billo The Clown about Andrea Makris. and a couple of Million Bucks.

Dear, dear dear. Did little old me offend you?

Considering your insulting offensive comments directed at me and others here I would have thought you would like to be addressed in your own style.

Hey, if you can’t mix it up with me, a real old lady Grammie, you better go play at the Romper Room blog.

Drew “(though he may hold socialist tenants!). Did you mean “tenets”?

Again, the “skinniest kid at fat camp” proves himself to be the biggest voice of reason in Fox primetime. “These issues are complicated, and calling President Obama a Socialist is oversimplifying.” – throwing around the term “socialist” (or “Marxist”, or whatever) does nothing but dumb down the debate. And who would have thought that O’Reilly would be the one to point that out!

And cmdrgmh, do you think O’Reilly is the only television personality who has been involved in weird, shady business with a female subordinate? I’ll admit Bill’s exploits were hilarious, but I’m sure there are tons of other newsmen who have engaged in such behavior and just weren’t stupid enough to be taped doing it.

BTW best rendition of the O’Reilly/Mackris transcript EVER: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wxc8ZY0plM4

    Rush’s spoof was great.

Since Obama is a progressive I agree.

First of all Hagzilla (Grammie) where were these teabaggers when we had Bush as president, second where is Fox News diversity. HMM you silly old dunk. The teabag movement in most case is racist. Read the signs in the crowd listen to what the Baggers are sayng or are too drunk or blind? And calling Olbermann low for what he says while praising Billo for the same is just typical conervative entitlement. OK for Billo and not for Keith. You and most at the KKK (Koldys Kiddie Korner) are just one in the same Ok for Billo to say the girl was asking to be raped or Hornbeck enjoyed being kidnapped and sodomized but not ok for Keith to call Baggers racist. I do as well think that Olbermann is not always right. as not all the baggers are racist only about 75% of them.
As for Limbaugh and Billo they are barely a step above cockroaches so we all must just consider the sources.

Now, Facebook User, if this were 1952, Grannie would be deemed enlightened.

She certainly spends the better part of her day obsessing over Olbermann, doesn’t she. If I were Opa, I’d be worried. Or, pleased.

I’d say you have the PHOX Phan Klub’s number.

And here is where the conservatives go wrong: The infighting, the knitpicking, the one upsmanship, the back biting, the overabundance of testosterone (or, in some cases, estrogen). We’re seeing Levin picking at Beck, Limbaugh picking at O’Reilly, and Hannity picking at everyone. It’s all about jealousy over ratings and trying to out do one’s competitors.

What it really is, is lame-brained.

And I’m a conservative saying this!

ALL these folks should be unifying and supporting one another in the common cause–to defeat liberalism, socialism, fascism, and the so-called “progressivism” and statism.

If conservatives were as cunning as the liberals, they would be amplifying one anothers’ statements.
