Christie Swipes at GOP Rivals: If You Can’t Handle Moderators Without Complaining
Chris Christie took some shots at his Republican 2016 rivals for complaining about the CNBC debate and wondering how they would be able to face Vladimir Putin if they can’t deal with the liberal media.
A number of candidates are upset at how the debate went down and are planning to meet tomorrow to take control of future debates from the RNC and make sure they settle on moderators who won’t be so unfair to them.
And yes, Christie did call out some of the questions too. His rant after getting a question about fantasy football was one of the highlights of the evening, and told one of the moderators at one point, “Even in New Jersey what you’re doing is called rude.”
But as Christie told Tucker Carlson on Fox & Friends this morning, despite how biased and “despicable” the debate was, “if you’re running for President of the United States and you can’t handle yourself against three CNBC moderators without, you know, crying foul and calling for intervention, then you’re not gonna do very well against Vladimir Putin either.”
He said he’s not planning to “complain” about the debate because anyone who can’t deal with it has “no business running for president.”
