CNN Guest on Trump Campaign Indictments: ‘What About Hillary Clinton? What About Obama?’

Former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort turned himself into the FBI today, along with his “protege” Rick Gates. Additionally, documents provided by special council Robert Mueller have revealed that George Papadopoulos, a foreign policy advisor to the 2016 Trump campaign, pleaded guilty earlier this month to one count of lying to the FBI about his connection to a Russian professor with ties to top state officials.

Trump supporters, however, worked tirelessly Monday to keep the media focus on the nefarious misdeeds of Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and other left-leaning political figures.

Steve Rogers, former New Jersey gubernatorial candidate and member of the Donald J. Trump for President Advisory Board, took to CNN to dismiss today’s multiple indictments, asking host Kate Bolduan “What about Hillary Clinton? What about Obama? What about Loretta Lynch?”

Bolduan was having none of this deflection.

“A federal indictment was handed down and someone pleaded guilty to false statements” she said. “Today I think it is valid at this moment to be having this conversation.”

When pressed to discuss today’s bombshells, Rogers held steadfast to the notion that neither Manafort or Gates have been accused of colluding with Russia: “Let’s talk about facts. Let’s not talk about fantasy.”

“Fact number one, no collusion regarding the Manafort indictment,” he continued. “Fact number two, no collusion regarding the guilty plea of Papadopoulos. Fact number three, no collusion at all yet.”

“[Mueller] is still trying to define, in his fishing expedition, collusion.”

Bolduan concluded by denouncing Rogers’ use of the term “fishing expedition” and then moved on to address her panel.
