CNN’s Don Lemon Invokes MLK in Slamming ‘Discriminatory’ Religious Freedom Law
CNN’s Don Lemon tonight delivered a short piece of commentary slamming Indiana’s “discriminatory” religious freedom law. Governor Mike Pence and other state officials have insisted that the law is not about discrimination.
However, Lemon said, “To say that this law is not discriminatory is disingenuous, at the very least.”
He argued that the law is less about religious liberty and more about the imposition of people’s religious views onto others. Lemon spoke of his faith and how he was “taught to offer love instead of condemnation.”
He told viewers he’s encouraged by all the celebrities and businesses that have been speaking out and taking action to protest the Indiana law. And Lemon ended by invoking Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.‘s famous quote, “The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice.”
